Jakob Heisey is a junior in Keene State College's music program. After first picking up the guitar in second grade, it didn't take too long to get it figured out and start appearing on stages around NH. Jake is well-experienced in performing a wide variety of genres and styles on guitar, ranging from rock to jazz, blues to bluegrass, and more. He took lessons for over 13 years from a Berklee College of Music graduate and incredible guitarist, Nate Coleman, who said he ran out of things to teach. During those years, he not only performed many genres with countless groups around the state, but also taught himself to play bass guitar, drums, piano, double bass, ukulele, mandolin, and banjo. Jake is a guitarist in KSC's jazz ensemble, jazz combos, and guitar orchestra, the latter of which he's an assistant teacher. He also performs in lots of musical theatre pit bands, from the seacoast to the lakes region, and will be instructing guitar over the summer. He's also had a deep interest in architectural design and historical home restoration for many years, although playing the guitar is his true passion.
